During Environmental Education Day, Woodhull School fifth and sixth grade students joined Bay Shore School District peers to explore the different areas of the brain.

Students learned about the many facets of the brain during a power point presentation, as well as through the dissection of a cow’s brain. Students asked insightful questions and learned about where the various structures identified in the power point slides could be found in the actual brain.

The instructor adeptly handled concerns and questions pointing to the differences in the way students may feel about the dissection and how those feelings may change over time.
