Students may need to take medication(s) during school hours in order to attend school, participate fully in the educational program, and maintain an optimal state of health. This applies to medications medically necessary for the student to take while in school or at school sponsored events; this does not apply to medications that may be taken at another time of day. In order to ensure that students can take medications consistent with these goals, the Fire Island School District has developed and implemented written medication policies and protocols that conform to applicable Federal and State laws.
PLEASE NOTE - Students are not permitted to self-carry any medications.
