Woodhull Elementary School sixth graders captured first place in the multimedia category for third through 12th graders in the 33rd annual Walt Whitman Birthplace Association Student Poetry Contest.

For their submission, the students collectively wrote a poem called “A Limitless Future” and included a corresponding collage-like drawing that each student had contributed to. The winning group was honored during a special ceremony at the Walt Whitman Birthplace in Huntington on April 7.
