Woodhull Elementary School students and family joined together for a fun-filled evening this winter during a Family Fun Night put together by the school and PTA.

During the event, Superintendent of Schools Loretta Ferraro emceed, music teacher Phil Tamberino provided musical entertainment and many teachers volunteered to make the night a success. Attendees enjoyed playing a number of games and activities. Highlights included a live version of the favorite “Hungry, Hungry Hippo” game where students and their parents or relatives took turns laying down on a scooter and pushing each other around while collecting yarn balls scattered around the gymnasium. There was also a relay race named after the storybook characters Fancy Nancy and Captain Underpants.

At the end of the night everybody participated in line dances, including “Cotton-Eyed Joe,” “The Chicken Dance” and “YMCA,” and the evening closed out with children partnering with family members and teachers to dance to the Sister Sledge classic, “We Are Family.”
